Austin Staples: The Deep Eddy Trifecta (pool + burgers + drinks)

This is stop 7 of the Austin Staples series where we visit things that make Austin what it is. These events will be focusing on visiting places that have been established for a long time and help keep Austin weird. Ladies and gentlemen, I bring to you, the Deep Eddy Trifecta. This is one of my favorite things to do on a summer day. Let me show you the ways. We will start with swimming at Deep Eddy pool, which is the oldest swimming pool in Texas. I know 11:00 might be early for some of you, but I plan to stay until around 1 or so, so you can get a little bit of swim time in before we hit the second part of the trifecta: Pool Burger. Are these burgers Michelin Star quality? Not at all. But does something transcendent happen to you when you eat these after swimming? Possibly. We will get some lunch at Pool Burger, and then we will hit the final point of the trifecta: Deep Eddy Cabaret. Deep Eddy Cabaret is the shining gem of the Deep Eddy Trifecta and is a bar everyone in Austin should visit at least once. It puts most Austin dive bars to shame, and I highly recommend drinking a beer out of a frozen mug.
