**Come paint [Vintage Bookstore & Wine Bar](https://www.vintagebooksandwine.com/) with us!** Vintage Bookstore & Wine Bar gives a 19th-century East Austin landmark — a building that has been a grocery, a saloon, Shorty's Bar, and law offices — a fresh life as a cozy literary gathering place. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic places, and more of its history can be read [here](https://austinrev.org/projects/haehnel-building-shortys-bar/). **What to bring:** * The art medium and supplies you'd like to work in — no supplies will be provided * Water (there is no shade, so please dress appropriately for painting en plein air) **Good to know:** * This paint out will take place along the shopping district in parking lots and on sidewalks. * The bookstore will not be open at the start of the paint out. While we have been in touch with the owner, it will be up to individual artists to gain approval if they would like to paint interiors. * Restroom facilities are not available on site. * We will end with an artist throwdown; artists can share in progress or completed work **Parking:** * Street parking throughout this area is metered. Plan to carpool or use public transportation if you want to avoid paying for parking.
